The King
The King took a journey to a distant land, entrusting chosen stewards to the daily running of the kingdom. Would the citizens remain true? He was aware that some were weak in their loyalty, while others were faithful and true. The kingdom was soon assailed by an enemy prince who was most cunning, sometimes known as the father of lies. Deception was the weapon of choice in his attempt to win over the citizens. Many listened and believed the enemies cunning deception's, thus showing the weakness of their loyalty.
On the other hand, those who were truly loyal, in whose heart's the King ruled, ignored the lies and remained faithful to their true King. They knew that in a time not far off their King would be returning, and thus it is with anticipation that the faithful await the trumpet call announcing his triumphant return. The King will then sit upon the throne, before whom all will fall upon their knees. At that time justice will be dispensed, and after being commended for their loyalty, faithful servants will receive their reward.
In Revelation 22:12 Jesus, our King, declared: "Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done." It is with joyful hearts that we, the faithful citizens of His Kingdom proclaim: "Maranatha, even so, come Lord Jesus come."
Today, let us thank Jesus, our Lord and King, for His promise to return.
