He Sent His Son.
In the Psalms The Lord proclaims to each one of us: "Be still, and know that I am God." The question then is, how can we know Him? For sinful humanity, to know God in the truest sense, is impossible. However, the Good News is that Our Heavenly Father has made a way - He sent His Son. In John 14:1, Jesus said: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me." According to this verse, to believe in Jesus is to believe in the God of The Bible. It is this unique belief in The Father and Jesus, that separates Christians from the world.
According to John 3:16, the reason that Our Heavenly Father sent Jesus into the world was: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." These words concerning Jesus are among the best known, and best loved in the Bible. Martin Luther referred to the verse as "the small Gospel." One could say that this verse is the Gospel in a nutshell.
When He walked on this earth, Jesus saw, and also experienced the struggles of life. With a heart of compassion He called out: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." - Mathew 11:28-30. A yoke is used to keep a pair of oxen, or other animals together when pulling a load. Consequently, been yoked together they becoming a team by sharing the work. Therefore, Jesus is offering to share our burdens, if we invite Him into our lives and allow Him.
Today, let us thank our Heavenly Father for sending Jesus.
