God’s Kingdom Of Light.
Humanity has always known that there is someone, or something greater than themselves. That been so, they invented gods resulting in numerous religion’s throughout the world, all worshiping their understanding of the supreme been or, as with some, a pantheon of supreme beens worshiped as gods. History has shown how this has caused much confusion because, all these religions are contradictory in their teachings concerning god. Although some were, and are peaceful, others were and are violent and bloodthirsty, even to the point of requiring human sacrifices.
Through all of this confusion our Creator God spoke to the Hebrew people giving them a way by which to live a life pleasing to Him. Because the heart of men is wicked in all their ways, humanity still went their own way. Not withstanding, The Almighty promised to send an Anointed One who would live among us as a light in a dark world. This would be His Son Jesus who, as Colossians 1:15 states: “is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.”
The incarnation of Jesus was the most significant of times in history because, God personally came among His creation - His Kingdom was among us. Jesus did not come to start a new religion, but to call people out of darkness and into The Light of Truth, resulting in a new and redeemed life. After the Atoning death and resurrection of Jesus, the gathering together of those who believed became known as church. This word comes from the Greek Ekklesia which is defined as “a called-out assembly or congregation.”
Sadly history has shown that not all who claim to be followers of Jesus have experienced a renewed life. Many are still part of the world of darkness, and not part of Gods Kingdom of Light as Jesus warned would happen in Matthew 7:21-23: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”
To know the Jesus of The Bible is crucial to Salvation and Eternal Life. This is one of the many descriptions of Jesus that John wrote: “The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:9-13 (NIV)
Our Heavenly Father desires that you and I should seek the Jesus proclaimed in The Bible, which is the only way by which we enter into God’s Kingdom of Light and Salvation. In Colossians 1:13-14 Paul declares: “For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Today, let us continue to seek God’s Kingdom of Light.
