Biblical Christianity’s Uniqueness.
What makes Biblical Christianity so unique? After all, the world has many religions, are they not all basically teaching the same thing - the pathway to god? The answer to this most important question is; none but Biblical Christianity proclaim the forgiveness of sin through knowledge of a personal Savior, thereby bringing repented believers into right standing with The One True God. As an example, when writing to new believers, the Apostle John penned the following regarding sin and Atonement:
“1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:1-2)
As forgiven people we should avoid sin, however, when we do fall, John reminds us that we have an Advocate who pleads on our behalf. No other religious system can claim such an amazing truth. Jesus, the only one full of virtue and righteousness, stands on behalf of believers, because, He offered up His life on behalf of sinful humanity. One may ask why did He undertake such a sacrifice? The answer; because of Love:
“9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10)
The Love of God has no natural boundaries, consequently, wherever you may live in the world you can be Redeemed by the Sacrificial death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. You and I experience forgiveness when, by faith, we confess and accept His Atonement on our behalf. This is what makes Biblical Christianity different and unique. Paul proclaimed this incredible truth concerning Righteousness through Grace when he wrote:
“22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood —to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished — 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” (Romans 3:22-26 NIV)
Today, let us give thanks for God’s Love shown through Jesus.
