In His Great Love And Mercy
In His great love and mercy, our Heavenly Father sent a light into our dark world in the person of His Son Jesus, who for three years preached the message of God’s Kingdom bringing hope and healing. At the age of thirty-three Jesus was betrayed and endured a nighttime trial, experiencing torture and death by crucifixion. Although innocent and without fault, Jesus submitted to death, whereby He became the Atoning Sacrifice for our sin. This message of Redemptive Salvation is the heart of the Gospel and is critically important because, it is the difference between eternal life for all who accept it, or eternal death for all who reject God’s offer of Salvation through His Son.
In Hebrews 2:1-4 we read a crucial warning: “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.”
In God’s great love and mercy, The Gospel message has been shared down through history since the days of Jesus’ disciples. The word Gospel means good news, it is the most powerful and life changing of any good news that humanity has, or will ever hear. The evangelist John put it this way: “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10)
I pray that you do not take lightly the message of The Gospel of God’s love and mercy, which has been passed down by faithful Christian men and women in order that you and I can personally experience God’s Forgiveness and Redemption. While writing regarding God’s great love and mercy Paul wrote: “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:6-8)
Today, let us praise God for the message of His Great Love and Mercy.
