New Life In Christ Jesus.
Paul is very explicit in his teachings concerning the new life in Christ Jesus. In his letter to the Romans, Paul warns about living a worldly life outside of God’s will: “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”(Romans 8:5-8)
According to Paul, we who have experienced the new life in Jesus Christ are uniquely blessed because, our Heavenly Father both knew and chose us in Jesus before the foundation of the world: ”Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” (Ephesians 1:3-4) What an incredible thought; God knew you and I before the beginning of time.
When a person has repented, and confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior, a new life begins, we are spiritually born again. Remember that God knew you before you were born, knew, that when challenged with the message of the Gospel, you would either accept, or reject, Jesus as your Lord and Savior. We who have accepted, and therefore experienced forgiveness, live life with a sense of peace, knowing that we have been redeemed and are now a child of God. It was through the reading of scriptures such as these that I came to a deeper understanding of the new life in Christ Jesus.
Today, let us praise our Heavenly Father for the new life in Jesus.
