The Steadfast Love Of Our God.
There are many times in life when we are in need of been reminded that there is One who is faithful when we are at our lowest. One of whom we can call upon when all appears to be lost, and our life is in turmoil as is the world today where many are in despair - without hope due to the pandemic. Notwithstanding, we who believe in the God of The Bible know that we can call upon His goodness and find hope. In Psalm 36 David writes of the goodness and steadfast love of The Lord:
“How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart!” (Psalms 36:7-10 (ESV)
To know, and have faith in such promise’s one needs to have a knowledge of The Bible for themselves. What good is an old Bible with the family records of births weddings and deaths sitting on the shelf as in many family homes? For all seekers of truth The Bible contains not only God’s message of Eternal Truth, but also truth for every living day laid out within its pages as Psalms 119:105 states: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Yes, God still speaks today to each one who will listen and follow His path, which offers redemption. Thereupon we learn of the Steadfast Love of our God.
In the Gospel accounts we can read of the power of God seen in the many miracles performed by Jesus, as He reached out to the hurting people. In John 10:30, Jesus claimed that He and The Father were one, and in John 8:19 He also claimed; "If you knew me, you would know my Father also." To know Jesus is to know God. To accept the sacrifice of Jesus' death upon the cross on behalf of our sins, is to receive God's forgiveness. Do not forget the promise that Jesus made to His followers before He ascended back to Heaven as recorded in Matthew 28:20: "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Been a believer, and a follower of Jesus, is to know the Steadfast Love of our God each and every day.
Today, let us give thanks for the Steadfast Love of our God.
