Cast Your Cares On Him
Each one will experience cares and trials of one kind or another throughout life. How we handle them is important for our wellbeing. Some crumble under the pressure, not knowing where to turn. However, be assured of this; our Heavenly Father is ever ready to pour out His blessings upon His children. In the midst of the greatest crisis, you and I can experience God's peace when we rely on Him as our refuge and strength, as Psalm 55:22 promises: "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
To the born again believer, reading the Psalms brings much comfort when life becomes challenging. It is in them we find the invitation to enter God's rest, such as Psalm 62: 5-8: "Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge." The Invitation is open to all who will accept - then by faith - enter His rest where we experience eternal peace.
We who are followers of The Lord Jesus, whilst going through trials, have the assurance that total reliance upon our Savior will bring peace and comfort. For who else is there to turn to when our world is shaken? Is He not The Good Shepherd who knows you and I personally? Knows our strengths and weaknesses, our joys and sorrows? Therefore, with confidence we can say: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
The positive attitude of a Christian comes from their personal relationship with The Lord. Because of our faith in God, we can face life’s daily cares with a cheerful heart, knowing that our Father is always there. Consequently, we can say with the Psalmists: “I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.”(Psalms 57:9-11)
Today, let us thank The Lord for His faithfulness.
