Praying Psalm 139
"O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it." (Psalm 139:1-6 NIV)
O'Lord God, I am held in awe of you, knowing that You are all powerful in all things. You know me personally, for You have searched my heart and know all my secret thoughts. You my Lord, have foreseen my lifes path, and know all my ways before I can even imagine them. Since the glorious day that Your Spirit called me to repentance, I have learned to place my life in Your hands. The knowledge of Your Salvation plan is too wonderful for me to fully comprehend. The peace that I have found in You affirms the promise that You are with me always.
"How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you." (Psalm 139:17-18)
Father, The Spirit has drawn me to The Holy Bible, a book that was once closed to me. Now, by Your Grace, Scripture has become a Living Word to me in which I can see Your thoughts for humanity. Your precious promises are laid out inviting sinners to look to Your Son, thereby receive forgiveness and new life. Yes Lord, I have awakened from my former life, and now acknowledge Jesus as my Saviour and Lord.
"Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!" (Psalm 139:23-24)
Heavenly Father, I welcome Your Spirit daily to search my heart and test my thoughts. As Your born again child, and follower of Jesus, I invite You to lead me in the way everlasting, thereby, on that day when I enter into eternal life, I will join all the saints and forever worship You Father, and The Lamb upon The Throne. Amen.
Today, let us praise Our Heavenly Father for The Psalms.
