Our God Of All Comfort
As Christians, we have the assurance that our Heavenly Father is the God of All Comfort who knows all about our life. He will use our experiences’s for good as Paul explained in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
We who are followers of The Lord Jesus, whilst going through trials, have the assurance that total reliance upon our God will bring peace and comfort. For who else is there to turn to when our world is shaken? Is He not The Good Shepherd who knows you and I personally? Knows our strengths and weaknesses, our joys and sorrows? Therefore, with confidence we can say: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
In the Gospel of John Chapter 10, Jesus declared that He was that Shepherd when He said; “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." In this uncertain world, I find myself trusting in The Lord Jesus, not relying on my own ability. I have come to know how The Good Shepherd leads us to pastures green. (Psalm 23:2) Life in this world may be uncertain, however, through Jesus we can personally know, and experience the very real presence of Our God of all comfort.
Today, let us praise The Lord who is Our God of all comfort.
