The Creators Love.
The first book of The Bible tells of Almighty God creating the world in which we live: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning —the first day.”- Genesis 1:1-5. NIV.
The high point of creation was when God created a man and women made in His likeness. God’s love was evident as He walked in the garden with them. He gave the man and woman freedom in the garden with one restriction; "You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." - Genesis 2:16-17. When the man and woman did transgress by listening to the tempter, God showed mercy in that He did not destroy them for their disobedience. Instead, The Almighty showed grace by promising to send One who would crush the head of Satan, who had become humanity’s archenemy, and who had brought darkness into our lives.
The prophet Isaiah proclaimed this promised One would be known as The Prince of Peace.- Isaiah 9:6. When the angels appeared to the shepherds announcing the birth of Jesus they were proclaiming God’s Love as they said: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!" - Luke 2:14. The peace that the Bible speaks of is a personal peace that can only be experienced by those who know God and have experienced His love and forgiveness. Thereby, we posses the assurance that our sins are forgiven through Jesus Christ.
The Gospel of John proclaims God’s love shown onto humanity along with the negative response of many: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” - John 3:16-21. NIV.
Today, let us thank our Creator God for His Great Love.
