The Returning King.
There was a King who took a journey to a distant land and entrusted chosen stewards to the daily running of his kingdom. The King, aware of the strength’s and weaknesses’ of his citizens, wondered how many would remain true. He was aware that although some were faithful, others were weak in their loyalty.
Eventually the kingdom was assailed by an enemy prince who was most cunning and known as the father of lies. Deception was the weapon of choice in his attempt to win over the citizens of the kingdom. Consequently, many listened and believed the enemies cunning deception's, thus showing the weakness of their loyalty.
Notwithstanding, those who were loyal, in whose heart the King ruled, ignored the lies and remained faithful to their true Lord. They knew of their Kings promised return, and were confident that, in a time not far off, their King would be returning; just as he had promised.
And so it is, with anticipation the faithful await the trumpet call announcing the Kings triumphant return. He will then sit upon his throne before whom all will fall upon their knees. At that time justice will be dispensed, and after being commended for their loyalty, faithful servants will receive their reward.
In Revelation 22:12 Jesus, our Lord and King, declared: "Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done." Therefore, it is with joyful hearts that the faithful citizens of His Kingdom proclaim: "Maranatha, even so, come Lord Jesus come."
Today, let us thank Jesus, our Lord and King, for His promised return.
