Acquainted With All Our Ways.
The revelation of Scripture teachers the supremacy of God in all things. As creator, He has the ultimate understanding of our world and all that it contains. While we as created beings have our limitations. Through pride or even arrogance, there are those who will never ask for help, on the other hand, a humble person will reach out and accept a helping hand. Of the utmost help in our dire circumstances is our Supreme God; The One who is aware of every aspect of our lives. It is He who knows each heart, and as Scripture teaches is acquainted with all our ways. This is the God of whom you and I can turn to with confidence.
A reading of Scripture reveals a God who knows and sees all things. Unlike you and I, He knows who we are as individuals, knows our strengths and our weaknesses. We look at another person from the outside and endeavour to make a judgment concerning each one we meet, sometimes rightly - sometimes wrongly. This is in contrast to our God who sees each person’s heart, as 1 Samuel 16:7 states: “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
In these days of crisis, we should take note of the Psalms of King David, who exhibited his personal understanding of the God who is acquainted with all our ways, when he wrote:
“1 O LORD, you have searched me and known me!
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.
5 You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.”
(Psalm 139:1-6 (ESV)
Today, let us praise God for His caring ways.
