Trusting In Gods Unfailing Love.
Placing ones trust in The Lord is an act of faith which comes naturally for those of us who have experienced salvation. This is because, salvation brings a new life experience which some describe as been born anew into Gods love through the Atonement of Jesus. Therefore, when we turn to the Psalms we say a heartfelt amen to verse’s such as:
“I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the LORD’s praise,
for he has been good to me.”
Psalm 13:5-6.
To experience God’s Unfailing Love in the way that the Psalmist expressed in the verse’s above is a very personal experience. To adequately describe this experience to another person who has not - as yet - put their trust in The Lord Jesus as their personal Savior, is very difficult:
“Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
Psalm 9:10.
As we go through this life we experience good times filled with love and joy. On the other hand there are also experiences that bring affliction into our lives. For the one who has a trusting faith in our Heavenly Father there is assurance in the knowledge that He cares and brings comfort in our times of need:
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.”
Psalm 62:5-8
The above verse’s were a great comfort to me during a period of hospitalization some years ago. It is at such times that we experience The Lords nearness and Unfailing Love when He becomes our rock of assurance. Accordingly, it is as believers who have experienced life with it’s ups and downs that we can understand Paul’s faith building verse’s:
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39
Today, let us continually put our trust in God’s Unfailing Love.
